The most successful of our crews in December was the grading crew at Tanyard Crossroads. Under Bill Gaines’ direction, with brothers Steve and Tom Dawson, father and son Jim and Brad Cree, Brian Donovan, “Hoss” Henry and Joe Shanahan, this group has become a dirt moving machine, moving over 5000 CY in a day. The crew made mincemeat of a very challenging job, while working around pipe crews, clearing crews, curb crews and paving crews. Whether it is pond work, striping top soil, cut to fill or fine grading, this talented group got the job done and led the charge to get a most difficult job to the multiple finish lines on time.
All the pipe crews did pretty well for Gaines and Company in December, but Rod Naylor’s crew really has devoured a fairly difficult project at Millstone. Wading through a tough off site portion of the job, they conquered a very challenging 20’ deep sewer along an active road, laying 40-70’/day, which is a real accomplishment. From there, the onsite work proceeded rapidly. Miguel Coreas, Charlie Burns and Elmer Garcia were operators. Santiago Lopez laid the pipe, assisted by Charles Graham, Alfonzo Ticas and Antonio Escobar. Thanks to their efforts, their job will be ready to move ahead of schedule.
