Gaines and Company installed 7,100 LF of 30” major outfall along with another 3,500 LF of 12” and 15” outfall to depths exceeding 33 feet. In addition to the pipe work, we installed a pumping station with a wet well that was 40’deep. This project is less than a mile from our new office building and shop that is in its final stage of construction on Three Sisters Road.

Austin Creek Subdivision , Wake Forest, NC

Gaines and Company was proud to be the General Contractor on this McCale Development site.  Austin Creek is a beautiful site located in Wake Forest off of Highway 98.  Phase 1 is a 52 acre site and when completed will have 125 single family homes.  Gaines and Company installed 8,300 LF of roadway and over 13,400 LF of sewer and water main.  At the beginning of the job Gaines mobilized to the site and installed 6,400 LF of outfall sewer and water through a deep and rocky section of the job.  We are also looking at the future phases of the job with Crowley and Associates Engineering to help the developer come up with cost effective designs for the future site work.

Oak Creek, Bowie MD

Oak Creek, developed by Pinnacle Development Corp, is located in the Bowie area of Prince George’s County.  It will be home to 800 units, mostly single-family with some town homes and a challenging golf course when this project comes to its completion.  But the real challenge was the installation of the deep sewer mains with flat grades, rock and an overabundance of water.  How deep you might ask? The sewer was up to 30 feet deep in many areas!  Due excellent supervision and hard working crews, we have completed 6 phases on time and ahead of schedule.  We have just completed the last phase that consisted of 4,900 LF of water, 9,100 LF of sewer from (20-30 feet deep) and 3,776 LF of storm drain.

Greenspring Quarry, Baltimore, MD

Greenspring Avenue, just east of I-695, is home to this multi-phased project. Developed by Koren Development and Beazer Homes, this residential and commercial site is being built around a beautiful 450’ deep lake, which was a working stone quarry.  Before the onsite work began there was a need to improve the water and sewer mains on Greenspring Ave.  Due to time constraints, and traffic control and rock, this work proved extremely challenging.  Nevertheless, we installed over 1 mile of 16’ water and almost 1,200 LF of 8” sewer and completed the job ahead of schedule. To date we have completed more than 6 phases on this site and installed 35,775 LF of water, sewer and storm drain.  What makes this number exceptional is, in spite of the rock encountered and the 25’ deep sewer relocation, all of this work was completed in less than 16 months.
