Description

Gaines Construction is pleased to announce that it was chosen by Hensel Phelps to handle the clearing, grading and utilities for the new FORSCOM/USARC Headquarters in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Hensel Phelps will be relying on the expertise of Gaines Construction to assist in the design and refinement of the project plans, which are currently 65% complete. The new headquarters complex is one of the most prestigious projects in the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) initiative. It will house over 2,700 employees—many of whom will be relocated from Fort McPherson, Georgia from two separate government entities: U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM) and U.S. Army Reserve Command (USARC). FORSCOM is the Army’s largest major command consisting of over 730,000 troops, while USARC commands are Army reserves.

Set on a 57-acre site, the 708,000 headquarter complex consists of the Command Headquarter Building and its four remote buildings: an Installation Process Node (IPN); Directorate of Information Management (DOIM) Administrative Building; Control Info Tech (CIT) Building; and a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC). This project has a 33-month schedule and is slated for July 2011 completion.
