Description
Gaines and Company is the general contractor for the site development for the Odenton Town Center project, an 8acre residential site, in the fast growing Odenton area. This is an extremely challenging site, requiring 20,000 CY of import on a very tight site. The site is full of storm water management storage structures featuring C.M.P. up to 60” in diameter and also a large bio retention water facility. The site entrance crossed and incorporated existing public roads among the 6,000 SY of traditional paving. There is also some permeable paving included on the site.
Offsite utilities include 36” coated DIP water line. It also features many difficult road crossings that contain a multitude of high security wires for nearby Ft. Meade and NSA. These require an abundance of caution to find and avoid.
Offsite sewer includes raw sewer “pump around.” Well points were also needed to control ground water. Offsite storm drain features many large and deep structures and required well coordinated traffic control.
