Gaines Takes Home Big Wins with Chesapeake Region Safety Council
Not only is Gaines an industry-leader in site development work, but also leading the way with its distinguished safety culture, as well. Gaines and Company was honored to take home not one, but two significant recognitions at the recent Chesapeake Region Safety Council’s 2025 Annual Meeting and Safety Award Ceremony.
Gaines and Company’s safety mission is to always ensure the safety and health of all employees. Its strong safety culture extends from management throughout all levels of the organization and spans across its entire operational area, including Maryland, North Carolina, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Washington D.C.
“I couldn’t be prouder of our team for how hard they work each day to keep our jobs and each other safe,” said Safety Director Dominic Pope. “I’m grateful that the Chesapeake Region Safety Council recognizes their efforts, as well.”
Gaines and Company’s Award Recognitions
- Safety Award of Excellence was awarded to Gaines for displaying a solid safety culture consisting of employees throughout all levels of the organization purposefully working with the highest level of safety awareness to prevent accidental injury or death. Chesapeake Region Safety Council looked for continuous focus, commitment, and perseverance to implement, improve, and sustain effective safety practices.
- Most Improved Safety Award was awarded to Gaines for greatly improving its Incident Rate percentage by making effective enhancements to its safety practices between 2022-2024.
“When I started working as a safety professional in 2011, the Chesapeake Region Safety Council was paramount in establishing my knowledge foundation,” said Dominic. “As Gaines is now honored with these awards, I am truly proud of our team for spreading that safety knowledge and passion throughout our organization in a way that is making a notable difference in the health and safety of our employees.”
