Gaines’s CCCTC Interns Graduated… With Big News!

In January, we were honored to have three dedicated students from Carroll County Career and Technology Center join us for a 5-month internship. The students not only learned about mechanics, but business, too. They have now graduated, and we are so proud of their accomplishments. But it’s not good-bye. In fact, it’s “see you tomorrow” because all three students are joining us as full-time shop employees!

Ady Bollinger, Jarrett Heard, and Brady Urban walked into our Maryland shop in January not knowing what to expect. In their five months as Gaines and Company interns, they performed a variety of complex tasks, including repairing undercarriages, trailers, stoneboxes, buckets, and trench boxes; performing routine vehicle and equipment services; and line boring to ensure equipment integrity. They now graduate with confidence in their mechanical and welding skills.

“This internship has been a great opportunity to get real-world experience,” said Brady. “It’s completely different from being in school. At Gaines, we have the pressure of keeping a company operating.”

“This crew came eager to learn and work every day,” said Project Manager Keith Eagle, who worked closely with Ady, Jarrett, and Brady during their internships. “I’m confident they are going to make a true impact on our Maryland operations with the skills they bring to our shop.”

“Our line of work is continually changing,” Ady said. “I’m happy to work for a company where I can keep building my knowledge and stay ahead of technology changes.”

As for others thinking of joining the industry, Jarrett has some advice. “Be willing to learn different things,” he said. “Always keep your eyes open so you can learn different skills.”

We are so proud of our newest full-time employes and can’t wait to see the contributions they make within our organization. Congratulations Ady, Jarrett, and Brady! Welcome to the Gaines team!
