Gaines and Company Sponsors Miss Utility Golf Outing Benefiting Construction Angels

There was nothing scary about the Miss Utility golf outing held on Friday, October 13 (except maybe a few golf swings we saw). The Miss Utility golf outing – which benefited Construction Angels – was held at the Hampshire Greens Golf Course in Ashton, Maryland. Gaines and Company was proud to be a hole sign and breakfast sponsor.

Gaines and Company reliably delivers turn-key site development projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region with offices in Maryland and North Carolina.

The organization has nearly 70 years of experience in underground utilities, grading, excavating, erosion controls, and road work for clients that include home builders, developers, general contractors, military installations, and state, federal, and municipal authorities.

On top of its production expertise, Gaines and Company also has an industry-leading safety program.

“Our safety team is very active in local and national safety and industry organizations and programs,” said Safety Director Dominic Pope. “Along our path, we’ve gotten to know the folks at Construction Angels and try to help when they have a need, especially when it hits close to home.”

Construction Angels is a national 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides immediate financial assistance and grief counseling to children and spouses of victims fatally injured in construction-related incidents.

In March 2023, a horrific accident killed six construction workers on Maryland’s I-695 – not far from Gaines and Company’s headquarters – after a car lost control and sped through an active work zone.

“After that accident occurred, Gaines and Company immediately came to our support through personal and corporate donations, as well as spreading the message about our needs so we could focus more on the families and less on raising funds,” said Construction Angels CEO and Founder Kristi Gibbs.

Construction Angels works year-round to raise funds so money is readily available when a construction-related fatality occurs. Gaines and Company’s commitment to the organization has also continued.

“We were honored to once again support the mission of Construction Angels at the Miss Utility golf outing,” said Gaines and Company Vice President David Gaines. “They do so much to care for families within the industry both locally and on a national level.”
