The Delaware and Eastern Shore region is booming – from residential developments to industrial parks and all the necessary infrastructure needed in between. This development grows and connects communities, benefiting the residents who call these communities home. As the region continues to grow, so do we. Gaines and Company is opening an office in the Delaware and Eastern Shore region to fulfill site development needs.
“We have been in this area for a while providing grading and excavating, underground utilities, stormwater management, and site development work,” said Vice President David Gaines. “It’s become clear that we need more of a physical presence to assist with the region’s rapid growth. Moving into the region not only improves our efficiency, but filters cost savings to our customers.”
This Summer, we will be moving into an office in Stevensville, Maryland, with our maintenance and storage yard in Denton, Maryland.
Not only did we physically move into the region, but we expanded our Gaines and Company family to support this new division, also. In April, we welcomed Mike Sturdevant (General Manager for the Delaware & Eastern Shore Division) to our team.
Mike brings over 45 years of construction expertise to Gaines. Since he has spent his entire career in the region, he knows site development in the Eastern Shore and already has positive relationships with developers and subcontractors that we work alongside.
“Up until now, there hasn’t been a large site developer like Gaines in the region,” said Mike. “But now that Gaines is here, we can offer customers the expertise, efficiency, and quality to get work done on schedule, doing it right the first time. Customers can trust Gaines to handle all site development work so they can move on to their next project.”

The Delaware & Eastern Shore Division is Gaines’s third division, in addition to Maryland and North Carolina.
