Though new to the company, Ernesto Guevara immediately showed his clear understanding and dedication to safety, earning him the Gaines and Company Safety Excellence Achievement Award.

“Immediately after joining our team, I recognized Ernesto’s awareness of his safety responsibilities. As a heavy equipment operator, he has a huge obligation to look out for the rest of the team. Since day one, he has never been afraid to speak up to keep the crew safe,” said Jim Stafford, Ernesto’s supervisor.
Foreman Napoleon Ramos, who nominated Ernesto for this award, added, “I know I can count on Ernesto to look out for the entire crew. He doesn’t wait for someone else to speak up or fix a situation. Instead, he takes safety into his own hands. He instantly became a committed member of our team, and we recognize his commitment with this safety award.”
Gaines and Company recognizes employees from both its Maryland and North Carolina locations every quarter with the Safety Excellence Achievement Award for displaying consistent and exceptional dedication to the organization’s safety culture.
Napoleon presented Ernesto a Safety Excellence Achievement Award certificate, exclusive award recipient hat, and $150 in safety bucks to use on gear on the company’s online safety store. Ernesto is also in the running for the 2021 Safety Excellence Award.
