GAINES AND COMPANY OPERATOR RECOGNIZED FOR PROACTIVE SAFETY PERFORMANCE
NORTH CAROLINA QUARTERLY SAFETY AWARD – 3RD QUARTER 2021
Safe work requires thorough training and a diligence to following procedures. But as Gaines and Company employees know, it takes much more than that to ensure the safety of a workforce.
Brian Jones was recognized with the Gaines and Company Safety Excellence Achievement Award for the work he does before even starting a task that keeps the entire crew safe.

The Gaines and Company Safety Excellence Achievement Award is awarded quarterly to employees in both Gaines and Company locations – Maryland and North Carolina. Employees are nominated for the award for a consistent safety-focused work performance that enhances personal and team safety.
Brian Jones is an operator, with responsibilities that go beyond a quality work performance, but also a diligence to team safety. He has been with the company for two years, and is certified in equipment operation and has completed new hire orientation. Brian was nominated for the Safety Excellence Achievement Award by Randall Hedrick, his supervisor.
“Brian always does a great job wearing all PPE. He does a very good job going over any equipment he runs and makes sure everything is the way it should be prior to work. He goes out of his way to help others do their job safely, as well,” said Randall.
Safety Director Dominic Pope added, “It’s these actions that he does even before starting his daily operations that set the stage for safe work for his entire crew. Brian is well-deserving of this award.”
Randall Hendrick and Superintendent Jim Stafford presented Brian with a Safety Excellence Achievement Award certificate, exclusive award recipient hat, and $150 in safety bucks to use on gear on the company’s online safety store. Brian is now entered into the competition for the 2021 year-end Safety Excellence Achievement Award, where he will compete among all 2021 award recipients in both Gaines and Company’s Maryland and North Carolina locations.

In both the Maryland and North Carolina divisions, a Safety Excellence Achievement Award is given on a quarterly basis to employees who go above and beyond in their dedication to safety.
